Rules & Principles
BidCrowd operates on pure, transparent economic mechanics. Here are the 9 rules governing how rankings, outbidding, and board placements work.
Your bid is your position
The leaderboard is sorted strictly by the total amount paid, highest first. There are no hidden algorithms, no editorial hand-picks, and no sponsored ad banners mixed in.
You don't need #1 to get noticed
Bid whatever fits your budget. If your bid is lower than the current leader, you immediately claim whatever position that price commands — #3, #15, #42. Every paid bid earns a spot.
Tie-breakers go to the earliest bidder
Matching an existing project’s exact bid does not leapfrog it. When two products share the exact same amount, the earlier payment holds the higher rank. To pass someone, you must bid at least $1 more.
Upgrading costs only the difference
Submit your existing project URL again with a higher amount and you are only charged the remaining price gap — not the full cost. The minimum incremental raise is $1.
Ranks are permanent until outbid
There are no countdown clocks, recurring fees, or time limits. Your listing keeps its rank for as long as nobody bids higher. However, competitors can outbid you at any moment.
One listing per domain
Each entry is keyed to its unique root domain or app ID, so duplicate slots cannot be bought for the same product. Submitting your domain again simply boosts your current placement.
Instant placement & final sales
Because bids immediately shift the public leaderboard live and grant instant real-time traffic, all bids are non-refundable once confirmed, except for listings removed by moderation.
Zero tolerance moderation
Malware, phishing, scams, adult content, misleading impersonation, and unlawful products are permanently banned. Removed listings are refunded, and legitimate projects below them move up automatically.
100% verified click metrics
Every outbound visit is verified and counted atomically on our servers with zero artificial inflation. We display true, transparent referral stats on every project card.
